The Many Faces of Me

October 14th, 2026

This week’s meeting explored the theme “The Many Faces of Me,” reminding us that we all adapt and express different sides of ourselves depending on the people and situations around us. Through presentations, humorous storytelling, and interactive Table Topics, we celebrated the many ways we communicate, connect, and show up in everyday life.

Our Toastmaster of the Day, Tiffany, introduced the theme by sharing a personal anecdote about how her personality shifts across different environments. Her opening invited us to reflect on the different facets of our identities and how we adjust our communication styles to connect with others.

The Word of the Day was:

Multifaceted (adjective) — having many different aspects, features, or sides.

Our first speaker, Apeksha, delivered a presentation titled “Death by PowerPoint,” exploring how to make professional presentations more engaging and effective. Drawing on personal experiences involving cybersecurity and communication mishaps, she emphasized that great presentations go beyond delivering information. By using storytelling to spark curiosity and create emotional connections, speakers can turn complex ideas into memorable experiences rather than overwhelming audiences with endless bullet points.

Our second speaker, Karen, presented a humorous speech titled “Extreme Olympics,” comparing the challenges of raising three young boys to competing in the extreme Olympics. Through hilarious stories of parenting chaos, unexpected escapes, and daring childhood stunts, she captured the endurance, intuition, and quick thinking that motherhood demands. Her speech reminded us that even the most chaotic moments can become stories worth laughing about.

The Table Topics portion of the meeting, led by Sarah, brought plenty of laughter and creativity to the room. Through an interactive role-playing game, members practiced adapting their communication styles to different audiences and situations. Whether giving directions to a celebrity crush or complaining about poor customer service to a pet, everyone had a chance to explore the many faces of their communication style.

Thank you to our functionaries and evaluators for their thoughtful feedback and support.

Ultimately, this week’s meeting reminded us that being multifaceted is about recognizing which side of ourselves a moment calls for, learning to communicate with different people, and embracing the many ways we can express who we are.

See you at our next meeting!
