This week’s meeting focused on embracing the unexpected, learning from our experiences, and finding opportunities for growth through storytelling and impromptu speaking.
Apoorva presented a profile of Sudha Murty, highlighting her contributions as an author, philanthropist, and educator. Her story showcased the importance of compassion, humility, and using one’s success to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Our prepared speaker, Swagata, shared stories from her trip to Olympic National Park and Seattle, highlighting unexpected travel hiccups and the importance of building buffer time into plans. Her experience reminded us that being flexible and embracing spontaneity can sometimes lead to better adventures.
The Table Topics session, led by Nitin, brought a touch of magic to the meeting through an interactive “Crystal Ball” activity. Members explored hypothetical scenarios, from wishing for the ability to speak to animals or own Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak to debating whether knowing the future would take away life’s excitement. Others shared personal stories about perseverance, motherhood, and unexpected career milestones. The activity sparked creativity, laughter, and reflections on how life can surprise us in ways we never imagined.
Thank you to our functionaries and evaluators for their thoughtful feedback and support in helping our speakers and meeting grow!
Ultimately, this week’s meeting reminded us that not everything has to go according to plan. Whether we’re navigating unexpected detours, imagining magical possibilities, or finding the courage to speak up, there’s always an opportunity to learn, grow, and discover something new.
See you at our next meeting!
