In celebration of World Book Day & Shakespeare’s birthday, our Toastmaster Abhijeet opened with a famous Shakespeare quote, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women simply players.” He asked for books that inspired us — he and Joscel highly recommended Michael Singer’s Untethered Soul .

Then we heard ice-breaker speeches from two of our newest members, Chandana P. (a.k.a. Candy) and Joscel. Candy bravely shared the emotional aftermath of a miscarriage. Joscel shared the breaking point of his career as a hospital nurse which drove him to pursue other enterprises, including stand-up comedy.

Then Sarah led the Table Topics session, prompting speakers with various quotes from Shakespearean works. Nitin spoke of buying food for a homeless man, Amber denounced laziness, Leena shared her love of photography, and Preetha observed cultural differences in punctuality.

In her close of the meeting as General Evaluator Preetha emphasized this particular quote:

“Boldness be my friend!
