On an unexpectedly rainy summer day, we met for food and fun. Karen graciously hosted us in her backyard, and then in her living room when the rain refused to be ignored. After filling our bellies with more dessert than lunch (Ramya’s gulab jamins!), the moms in the group entertained us with stories of their unruly kids. Then we held a mini-auction of random items contributed by members (everything from vitamin gummies to silverware). Each person took turns pulling an item from the donation box and giving their best sales pitch to raise a few dollars for the club. (Picture — bidding wars over body lotion.)
